The scripts below were developed to monetize overflow calls that come in when none of our customers were available to take the calls. Using these telemarketing scripts we have proven a 10% closing ratio. Out of 10 callers, 3 would agree to be transferred to the closer and one client would be retained. These scripts are for opening the conversation and not meant for closing the sale.  See writing a Credit Repair Sales Script for tips and specific things to say.

Outbound call scripts


Inbound call script. (use this script when you are taking incoming calls from poor credit borrowers)

1. (SMILE) Thank you for calling (the mortgage line), this is _____, are you calling to purchase or refinance a home?(Answering like this lets the caller know that they got the right number and that you are in control of the call)
2. Sir/Miss allow me to take your contact information to get started. Okay? (always collect a lead before you decide if the client is qualified and before you answer their questions)
3. May I have your name please? (repeat and verify spelling).
4. Is this the best number to reach you on?
5. What state is the property in?
6. What is your zip code?
7. Have you already found a house?
8. What price range?
9. What is your annual income?
10. How much can you put down?
11. How would you rate your credit?
12. Do you know what your score is?
13. When was the last time you checked your report?
14. What’s on your credit report? _________ (Let them talk briefly and then paraphrase their situation.) So you have ________ (what you wrote above) on your credit report.

Yes (ask about the program and ask if they are satisfied with the service – you may be able to offer them something they don’t get already – like good service)

17. Mr______ Because of the sub-prime mortgage crisis a few years back, You won’t be able to get a government insured loan until you get on a credit repair program and get your score over 620. I have had clients in the past that were able to dispute items on their credit report, their score went up enough to get a mortgage. Do you want to learn more about a credit repair program?

Yes (continue) Okay (Callers name) I will get a paralegal from _______ firm on the line for you. After the call is completed, call me back and let me know what happened.
If you sign up with them, they will notify me when your credit score reaches (640), which is the minimum and then we can proceed with your loan.

19. “Okay (Callers name) I will transfer you to the credit repair specialist now. Please hold on.

Outbound Mortgage – Credit Repair Script

Use this script to call fresh leads using a consultative approach.

(SMILE!) Hello, This is _____ ______ I am responding to your online mortgage application from [DATE]. Is this [NAME]? How are you today?

(NAME) Let me go through your information I have here and fill in a few blanks to get started Okay?

So you are looking to buy a house in the (CITY) area right?

Do you already have a house in mind?

What is the purchase price or price range you are looking at? (Rule of thumb: Should be less than 3 to 4 times annual income.)

What is your annual income? Does that include a co borrower?

Have you saved at least 5% to put down?(FHA requires 3.5% and you’ll have some closing costs).

(If yes to any of the above, they must enroll in a credit repair program.)
(NAME) Your qualifications seem to be in order the only thing is that we have to get some of those items removed from your credit report. Do you want to know how it works? (see the Credit Repair Sales Script)

Use this script to pre-qualify and transfer the call to a closer.
